Tree Planting In Urban Areas
Unless the soil where the tree is being planted can support heavy root growth, your tree will have a rough time growing in a prosperous way. Root growth is a vital factor toward successful planting in an urban area.
There is usually a set formula we use when planting trees in city-like areas. There needs to be a set soil volume in order to support a reasonably healthy tree. Soil ready or planting should be at least three feet deep and have a nice bulky density. Be prepared for plenty of water, fertilization and mulching to assist in the process.
This is the minimum soil volume for trees in an urban area that we abide by:
16 Inches = 1000 cubic feet
24 Inches = 1700 cubic feet
