How to properly trim a tree during the spring
The truth is that you can prune a tree pretty much any time of the year. However, this does not mean that certain times aren’t more beneficial than others. Early springtime pruning is vastly preferred over other seasons because your trees are approaching period of rapid growth.
This means that any pruning cuts which can and will be made will heal much faster without your local tree care company having to worry about insect infestations or tree disease. For example, pruning done in the wintertime forces the tree to go into it’s existing food supply in order to try and heal wounds which will inevitably weaken it. This makes the tree more susceptible to weather and pests.
Proper pruning techniques include the removal of dead, dying or crossing branches, removal of limbs that grow from the center of the tree and any cut that does not leave stubs behind.
